Zoë’s Double Wedding Ring is a 2-color, 2-fabric quilt set on point. It measures approximately 70 x 70 inches. I used an on-point setting for this quilt so I could finish it off with straight edges to make binding the quilt easier. This quilt is similar to Xandra’s Pickle Dish but the construction of the arcs is a little more complex because the arc corners are two different colors.
This design uses the Inklingo Double Wedding Ring Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana by Northcott. There is information on Linda’s blog about fussy cutting Double Wedding Ring shapes!
I do have a cousin named Zoë somewhere in my mother’s family; but since she is a living person, I won’t share anything about her here. I’m just glad to have a female whose name begins with the letter Z!
(A special Happy Birthday to my mom and oldest son today!!)

How to Rotary Cut Curves

Yvonne’s Christmas Star is a 2-color, multi-fabric quilt in a horizontal setting. It measures 75 x 75 inches. Log Cabin blocks can be laid out in many different settings. This star setting seemed just right for a Christmas quilt. If you are quirky like me, you cut out all your Inklingo shapes with scissors and enjoy the long, slow process. If you like to be efficient and use your rotary cutter, you can layer-to-cut your printed pieces of fabric and be done in no time. Linda explains layering to cut on the Inklingo blog and more about it in her article on the Quilting Hub.
This design uses the Inklingo .75″ Log Cabin Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 very simply with color swatches available in the program. You could use Christmas fabrics or do a scrappy version as well.
Yvonne Colepaugh is my 1st cousin 2x times removed. She and my grandmother, Helen are first cousins. Yvonne’s mother died during childbirth and the five children were taken in by relatives. My great-grandmother, Catherine (Colepaugh) McEvoy took in Yvonne and her brother, Maurice and raised them as her own. (What’s two more when you already have a dozen of your own?)

Xandra’s Pickle Dish is a 2-color, 3-fabric quilt set on point. It measures approximately 70 x 70 inches. I used an on-point setting for this quilt so I could finish it off with straight edges to make binding the quilt easier. The curves are very gentle and can be easily machine pieced. The Inklingo Double Wedding Ring Design Book includes assembly notes, information on pressing and a pressing guide for the arcs. The DWR Design Book is free when you purchase the DWR or Pickle Dish collections but through 31 December 2014, Linda is offering it for free without a purchase.
This design uses the Inklingo Pickle Dish Collection which can be purchased separately and has all the shapes to make this quilt or as an Add-On to the Double Wedding Ring Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana and Stonehenge by Northcott. Linda has a video with 50 Double Wedding Ring designs (see end of post) that will inspire some to try a more complicated design. There is also information on Linda’s blog about fussy cutting Double Wedding Ring shapes!
No, there is no Xandra in my family tree. There isn’t anyone male or female whose name begins with the letter X as a matter of fact.
