medium_avatarearly-creating-40-years-agoThis is me almost 40 years ago standing in front of my high school art project proudly displaying a first place and lot grand champion ribbon won at the local fair. The shirt I have on is one I made.

I have always enjoyed doing some sort of hand work. My grandmother taught me to embroider when I was about 8 years old. She bought me my first sewing machine when I was in junior high (middle school for those in younger generations).

Besides macramé, I’ve dabbled in crewel embroidery and cross stitch but I always come back to my sewing machine. It wasn’t until 2003 that I finally started quilting–children, homeschooling and running an online bookstore swallowed most of my time before then. My love for fabric and traditional quilts fuels my passion for quilting. I love playing with color!
