Stella’s Star is a 4-color, 5-fabric quilt in an on-point setting. It measures approximately 70 x 70 inches. This quilt uses two different 10 inch blocks. When they are set on point it is hard to tell where one block ends and the other begins. I like that it has almost a plaid look to it.
This design uses the Inklingo Half Square Triangle [HST] 00B and Inklingo Quarter Square Triangle [QST] 00B Collections. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana by Northcott.
Stella F Williamson is my great aunt. She was born in July 1872 in Rochester, New York. I don’t know much about her other than she is the oldest child of Georgianna (DeLong) Williamson, was married twice and had a least one child. I like the name Stella so that is why I chose to feature her.

When Linda Franz posted a photo of the Morse Star on the Inklingo Facebook page, I commented that I would like to see the second row of partial stars radiate out to make the block large enough to be a baby quilt. The trick to making radiating rows is to add the unit I’ve colored in purple as shown below.
When drawing a complex block in Electric Quilt, it is simpler to draw just a quarter of the block. When placed into a quilt design, there will be what looks like a seam running vertically and horizontally through the center of the quilt splitting some of the quilt pieces in half. Obviously you would use the full piece instead of halves when creating the quilt.
Shall we call the 36 inch block Endeavor?
This 36 inch block makes a fabulous center for a medallion-style quilt. A 72 inch quilt using the Inklingo Star, Castle Wall, and Free Diamond-Triangle-Square Collections.

I couldn’t decide if I like the interplay between light, medium and dark better in this one or the one above. Either way, I would be doing some major fussy cutting for the diamonds, kites and Castle Wall centers so I suppose it wouldn’t matter. I made a slideshow gallery to show you some of the other designs I was playing around with in Electric Quilt.
Rebecca’s Rose Dream is a 1-color, 2-fabric quilt in a horizontal setting. It measures 84 x 84 inches. This is one of the simpler quilts I designed for the A to Z Challenge. It would be a good beginner quilt for someone new to Inklingo or new sewing curves by machine.
This design uses the Inklingo 6″ Rose Dream Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Stonehenge by Northcott.
Rebecca is the name of a few cousins in my Duthie line.

Sewing Curves Without Pins
This is how I sew curves. (I dislike pinning!) I use a 3M Command Strip pasted along the side of my presser foot to help as a guide also. You need to be sure to use your 1/4″ presser foot if you are going to use a Command Strip as a guide. When I am done sewing curves, the Command Strip removes easily from my machine bed.
