Viola’s Beauty is a 4-color, 5-fabric quilt set on point. The quilt measures approximately 70 x 70 inches. This quilt, with the pieced sashing, would have a lot of seams. The sashing is made with shapes from a Storm at Sea collection. I have also colored a version with plain sashing and cornerstones.
This design uses the Inklingo Orange Peel Deluxe Collection and the 6” Storm at Sea Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana by Northcott.
Viola (DeLong) Jones Dorgan is my 2nd great aunt—Adeline’s youngest daughter and Georgianna’s sister. She was born in 1855 in Ogdensburg, NY. Viola was married twice and had five children. Her first husband was a doctor who died at a young age. Viola died at a young age as well, possibly during the birth of her youngest child or shortly thereafter. Her children were taken in by other relatives but remained close throughout their lives.

How to Rotary Cut Curves Inklingo Video
===
Sewing Curves Without Pins
This is how I sew curves. (I dislike pinning!) I use a 3M Command Strip pasted along the side of my presser foot to help as a guide also. You need to be sure to use your 1/4″ presser foot if you are going to use a Command Strip as a guide. When I am done sewing curves, the Command Strip removes easily from my machine bed.

Stella’s Star is a 4-color, 5-fabric quilt in an on-point setting. It measures approximately 70 x 70 inches. This quilt uses two different 10 inch blocks. When they are set on point it is hard to tell where one block ends and the other begins. I like that it has almost a plaid look to it.
This design uses the Inklingo Half Square Triangle [HST] 00B and Inklingo Quarter Square Triangle [QST] 00B Collections. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana by Northcott.
Stella F Williamson is my great aunt. She was born in July 1872 in Rochester, New York. I don’t know much about her other than she is the oldest child of Georgianna (DeLong) Williamson, was married twice and had a least one child. I like the name Stella so that is why I chose to feature her.

Queenie’s Beauty is a 3-color, 3-fabric quilt set on point. It measures approximately 79 x 79 inches. It is one of my more complex designs with different colorings for 2 of the 3 blocks. It also uses blocks you don’t see very often—Improved 9 Patch, Alabama Beauty and Drunkards Trail. Using Inklingo to print the templates on the reverse of the fabric makes sewing these blocks a piece of cake.
This design uses the Inklingo Orange Peel Deluxe Collection and the 4″ Drunkards Trail Collection. I colored the blocks in EQ7 with fabrics from Toscana by Northcott.
When I named this quilt, I didn’t have a Queenie in my family tree. [There are a couple of letters where I had to pick other names to use that weren’t in my tree.] Earlier this week, I was copying some Canadian land grant records to my research and saw a birth record for a Queenie Isabella Duthie born in 1911. I know I’m related to her because I recognize some of the other names in a partial online tree that included her, I just don’t know how we are related yet. Queenie married someone named Fairservice and she died in 1992 according to the online tree. I think she wanted me to find her so she could claim her quilt.

I didn’t use fabric samples for the original design and liked the Delft Blue look. I couldn’t quite duplicate it in the fabric swatches in Electric Quilt so I switched tactics and went with some completely different colorways |
